The educational offerings range from primary school to upper secondary school, including both primary teacher programs, subject teacher programs, vocational teacher programs, as well as a master's program and a doctoral program in educational work.

As a lecturer in educational work, focusing on grades 7-9 in primary school and upper secondary school, you will be part of a teaching faculty that collaborates across a broad knowledge area. The subject of educational work studies the conditions and tasks for educational activities and is a practice-oriented knowledge area that is based on questions related to the teaching profession, pedagogical professional practice, and the structural conditions under which the activities are conducted. At Dalarna University, educational work is the subject responsible for the educational scientific core in teacher education. The courses in the subject include both university and practice-based education.

Your workday as a teacher/lecturer
The main tasks will be to teach courses within the KPU and vocational teacher programs but may also include other programs.

Teaching takes place both on campus in Falun and digitally. During the practice-based education, there may be some travel required. In addition to teaching, the position includes administrative tasks as well as the development of courses and programs. You will be part of teaching teams and subject groupings related to the respective teacher education.

Are you the person we are looking for?
We are looking for a qualified teacher with many years of experience in educational work within grades 7-9 in primary school, upper secondary school, and preferably within vocational programs. You are expected to have a good ability to teach and meet teacher students based on their knowledge level. You are structured and independent with good communication and collaboration skills. You enjoy collaborating with various parties and have a strong commitment to learning and development. Several of the tasks require physical presence at the university, and the current placement is in Falun. For the position, very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is required. Good knowledge of English is also a requirement, as well as good skills in using digital tools. The position includes practice-based classroom visits, and a B driver's license is necessary. To succeed in the role, good administrative skills are required.

Eligible for employment as a university lecturer is one who
- has demonstrated pedagogical skill
- has completed a master's degree or equivalent academic vocational education or has other professional skills that are relevant considering the subject content of the position and the tasks included in the employment.

If a master's degree is lacking, experience in development work related to teaching and a clear ambition to obtain a master's degree in educational work or a related subject area is required.

It is meritorious if you
- hold a vocational teacher's degree
- are an educated practice supervisor
- have experience supervising practice students
- have experience teaching in higher education
- have experience in online teaching.

The position
The employment is a fixed-term position, 100% working hours, starting from 2026-04-01 to 2026-10-01 (with the possibility of extension). A probationary period may be applied. Dalarna University is an institution that operates in two locations. The current placement for this position is in Falun, and some work also occurs in Borlänge.
